How the level was stated. Measured on-axis at 1 m, pink noise, 10 dB crest factor, unweighted (per page footnote).
Notes. Page states nominal 180 degree cardioid with 15 dB rear rejection at 70 Hz. Power printed as 2 x 1800 W peak (3600 W). Two M20 sockets for 35 mm pole. A retailer page (idjnow.com) printed different weight/dimensions; manufacturer page used. Dimensions labelled H x W x D.
What the figures mean at distance
Taking 132 dB at 1 m on axis and the free-field rule of 6 dB lost per doubling of distance, this is the most the speaker can reach at each distance. A real room adds reflections, and a speaker is not normally run at its maximum.
| Distance | Level on axis |
|---|---|
| 2 m | 126.0 dB |
| 5 m | 118.0 dB |
| 10 m | 112.0 dB |
| 15 m | 108.5 dB |
| 20 m | 106.0 dB |
See level and distance and coverage angles for how these are worked out.
Planning estimate only. The calculation ignores reverberation, reflections and room modes. See terms and disclaimer.
